Last year EDUCATION is amended as a fundamental right to all Indian citizens. Right to Information is also in place. Mid Day meals is also being served across the schools, cycles are being provided to girls so they can commute with ease. Old age pension, widow pension are provided. Indira avas and 2 rupees rice is also available. The government has arranged a lot of empowering schemes for so called not empowered citizens. The statesmen, bureaucrats really worked very hard in order to make these policies work though the intentions behind these not that much straight. Now the question is what we the citizen of the countries returning to our politicians.
Only VOTE!!!!!!!!!! Is that enough??????????????. We must do something. Few days back a top rank govt official has also hinted that. He considers that having a criminal charge should not be criteria for rejection to be a member of parliament. I think the Election commission should make this a sub heading in the Achievement column.
If we see our electoral process it is the toughest in the world. A candidate first has to buy a ticket from a concern political party. It not only cost money, but you need to have that level connection as well. And this type of connection is not plug and play type. You have to take care of this links. Once you got the ticket you have to take your management skills to that level where even IIM alumnae dare to dream. Your management involves to take care unsatisfied people from your side, unsatisfied from opponent side, creating dividing strategies for the voter so they are easy to conquer, managing the money no matter where they come from, managing people(most important need to feel their taste like chicken or mutton, pullau or biriyani, XXX or old monk), and finally wait for the poll. During the poll you also have to try from booth capturing to EVM tampering which needs cross platform expertise (from IMA to IIT ). After winning the election the race does not end, you need to make perfect repo with the high command so that a more than deserve position will be offered to you. After doing all these if time permits you need to attend the parliament session, attending public gatherings, making false promises, etc. For doing this what our representatives got few bugs(may be lakhs apart from facilities etc.). The person who spends crores in the span of few days can never be satisfied with this. Appart from this as a MP you have to sponsor your people their expenditures etc. Now this is sere injustice to a person who took the oath to make our voice heard near the government.
What we should do? Isn’t it our responsibility of our people pay them back. The solution is RIGHT TO CORRUPTION or Nationalisation of CORRUPTION. We all shout at a minister for taking few thousands of bugs, so what he is able provide all of us to talk to our beloved freely using the spectrum allotted. Isn’t it the benefit I am getting. I am getting as sim card with talk time with an umbrella or a bag isn’t that benefit passed to me. A relative of peon in an office get better service, relative of a ward boy gets bed easily in a hospital, husband of ward member has share in the block office so what a chief minister books a flat for his near and dear ones. He has to yar,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.
What can we do? Should we stop it or legalise it? I then think how all these things entering to our system. Who are the sources? Isn’t because we are not taking the responsibility because it is our democracy and for the outcome we should be completely responsible also. But we have always nice examples and excuses for avoiding our responsibilities. For corruption also we are responsible. Because many of us don’t vote, if we vote then only to betas, betis, caste, religion we never vote for INDIA. We create dynasty in democracy. We never welcome new thoughts and new people.
So if we want a change then we need to change. Otherwise make an amendment and sit back and relax and enjoy scams like we enjoyed affairs of Bollywood stars.
I agree to the fact that 100% voting should happen sooner or later, for not a corruption free state, but at least to curb corruption to its minimum. But there I felt when I voted last time. I was n dilemma whom to vote for. I felt clipping out the worst out of two worse things is way tougher than cracking Civil Service Exam. I really wonder when youth of our nation will take politics as profession. When will it be that top political parties start campusing in colleges for competent leaders for tomorrow. When will the time come that there will be forms seeking efficient political leaders. I really hope the day comes soon. Because we genuinely need a 'renaissance'.
